As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Level 2 Gottman trained practitioner, Michelle provides specialized support to help couples strengthen their relationships and resolve conflicts. The Gottman Method is a research based approach to couples therapy and focuses on enhancing three essential areas: building friendships and intimacy, managing conflict constructively, and creating shared meaning and purpose in the relationship. Therapy will consider how factors such as family of origin dynamics (the framework you grew up in), past experiences, trauma, and external stressors affect the relationship. By understanding these influences, couples will discuss how they shape their interactions and work together to create healthier patterns that support both partners’ needs.

In addition to regular couples therapy sessions, each partner may also be asked to attend a few individual sessions to supplement progress. This will allow me to get to know each individual better, assess each of your personal needs, and develop the very best treatment plan moving forward.

The duration of couples counseling depends on the couple's needs and progress. Typically, a minimum of 6 consecutive sessions is recommended to start seeing improvements.
